He knows how to handle the media. He really showed a great sense of humor.
Question: How do you feel about being 2nd choice.
Answer: Second choice, you've got to talk to 6-7 guys before you get to me, I'm just excited to be here.
He's straight forward. He was asked about style of play and he said that he likes the uptempo game, but said players and game matchups will dictate how the team plays. Nice to see that he not only likes to run and play the passing lanes, but that he's not going to say things just to make the fans happy.
He wants to be here. The guy looked giddy the whole time. That's huge folks. He embraces the expectations and the fan base. And now it's our job to support the hell out of him while he rebuilds this thing.
He's already showing love to the current players. He made reference to them being priority #1, even before a staff, multiple times. Talking about creating a family environment.
And he came across as a winner, not a whiner. A guy that simply gets things done combined with a true love and passion for the game. Mix that with his down home humility and I think we've got our man.
That could all be coach speak, but it falls in line with the quotes from his ex-wife(usually a good place to get the poop on a guy) in the NY Times article.
I'm fired up.
